The Road Less Travelled
You may be accustomed to finding our traditional line, priced to be affordable to the middle class. We would love to be making it and also to be teaching others how to make our line but, alas, we do not currently have a production and training studio. To raise funds for a studio we are putting our vintage collection of rare, one of a kind and original design prototypes on the market. To learn more, follow our blog, Andersen Studio Evolution Diaries. We love this process and are committed to seeing it continue for the benefit of future makers.
This is a Mother and Seal matching pair in the breaking glaze technique that was designed do the daker color breaks into the lighter background creating natural variations. Vintage Mother and baby seal is finely crafted with wel defined eyes and facial features.
The stoneware Mother Seal is a sleek form with large ebony eyes and a friendly expression, slip cast in red stoneware. It is 10 inches long and all hand made in the USA.
Ceramic Baby Seal designed by Weston and Brenda Andersen. Slip cast on red body, 7 inches long, handcrafted in America
The V-number indicates that this seal is recorded as a one of a kind item in our air table database, as a historical record.
